Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in Service Precautions.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Damage to Electrical Connections Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the reservoir fluid level connector (2).
2. Clean the outside of the reservoir.
3. Remove the reservoir cap (1).
4. Remove the reservoir diaphragm.
5. Remove the fluid with a syringe.
Important: If the vehicle has a 1.6L engine, and if the vehicle does not have ABS, a screw retains the reservoir to the master cylinder. All other
models utilize a pin in order to retain the reservoir.
6. Remove the screw or the reservoir pin (5) using a drift.
7. Remove the reservoir (2).
8. Remove the reservoir grommets (3).
