Drive Belt: Service and Repair
Drive Belt Replacement - Cooling Fan and Generator
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove the power steering drive belt.
3. Loosen the adjusting bolt (1) and pivot bolt (2) on the generator (3).
4. Remove the drive belt.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the drive belt properly to the pulleys.
2. Remove slack from the belt by pulling on the generator in order to obtain 9 - 11 mm (0.35 - 0.43 inch) of belt deflection under 10 kg (22 lbs.) of
force.
