Drive Belt: Service and Repair
Drive Belt Replacement - A/C Compressor and Power Steering
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Loosen the bolts (4) on the drive belt tensioner (5).
3. Remove the drive belt.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the drive belt properly to the pulleys (1, 2, 3) and tensioner (4).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Using a hexagon wrench, turn the tension bolt clockwise in order to obtain 4 - 9 mm (0.16 - 0.35 inch) of belt deflection under 10 kg (22 lbs.) of
force.
Tighten the tensioner bolts to 25 Nm (18.5 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
