Case Adapter Oil Seal

Transfer Case Adapter Seal Replacement

J6125-B Slide Hammer

-

J23129 Converter Housing Seal and Extension Housing Oil Seal Remover

-

J37752 Oil Seal Installer

J36850 Transjel (R) Transmission Assembly Lubricant

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting. 
2. Support the transmission with a suitable hydraulic jack. 
3. Remove the transfer case from the vehicle.  

4. Remove the transfer adapter case seal (1) from the transfer adapter case using the J23129 and the J6125-B. 
5. Inspect the transfer adapter case for cracks and other damage. Replace as necessary. 

Installation Procedure 

1. Apply a thin coat of J36850 to the transfer adapter case seal surface. 

2. Install the new transfer adapter case seal (1) into the transfer adapter case using a J37752.
3. Apply J36850 to the new transfer adapter case seal lip. 
4. Install the transfer case into the vehicle.  
5. Remove the hydraulic jack from under the transmission. 
6. Lower the vehicle.
