Valve Lifter Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the cylinder head and gasket. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left Side   (See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Service and Repair) or to

Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side (5.3L)   (See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Service and Repair)Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side
(6.0L)   (See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Service and Repair).

2. Remove the valve lifter. Refer to Valve Lifter Removal (5.3L)   (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul)Valve Lifter Removal (6.0L)   (See: Service

and Repair/Overhaul).

3. Clean and inspect the valve lifters. Refer to Throttle Body Removal   (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the valve lifter. Refer to Valve Lifter Installation (5.3L)   (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul)Valve Lifter Installation (6.0L)   (See: Service

2. Install the cylinder head and gasket. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left Side   (See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Service and Repair) or to
