Quarter Window Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Secure the rear edge of the body side window with 5 cm (2 in) masking tape placed between the window outside edge and the outer quarter panel.

This will prevent the window from moving during the procedure.

2. Remove the rear interior trim panel covering the actuator.
3. Disconnect the electrical connection (1).
4. Remove the screws connecting the window mount to the actuator arm (2).
5. Remove the actuator retaining nuts (3).
6. Remove the actuator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Position the actuator over the mounting studs and install the retaining nuts (3).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts (3) to 7 N.m (2 lb in).

2. Install the screw connecting the window mount to the actuator arm (2).

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Connect the electrical connection (1).
4. Install interior trim panel.
