7. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (3) from the LF/driver side impact module yellow connector (3) which is located under the driver
seat.
8. Disconnect the vehicle harness connector (4) from the LF side impact module connector (1).
ENABLING PROCEDURE
1. Remove the key from the ignition.
2. Connect the vehicle harness connector (4) to the LF side impact module yellow connector (1).
3. Install the CPA to the LF side impact module connector (1).
4. Install the Air Bag Fuse.
5. Install the cover for the underhood fuse center.
6. Use caution while reaching in and turning the ignition switch to the ON position.The AIR BAG indicator will flash, then turn OFF.
7. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle, if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System

DISABLING PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Refer to SIR Service Precautions.
1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicles wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Open the hood and locate the underhood fuse center.
5. Lift the cover for the underhood fuse center.
IMPORTANT: With the Air Bag Fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not
indicate an SIR system malfunction.
6. Locate and remove the air bag fuse from the underhood fuse center.
7. When disabling only the side impact module - RF proceed to step 26. If the entire SIR System needs to be disabled, then go to step 8.
