Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Auxiliary
Removal Procedure
1. Use a heat gun in order to heat the front door auxiliary weatherstrip.
1. Hold the heat gun approximately 152 mm (6 in) from the surface.
2. Apply the heat using a circular motion for approximately 30 seconds.
2. Use a plastic flat-bladed tool in order to peel the front door auxiliary weatherstrip from the panel surface.
3. DO NOT damage the paint during removal of the auxiliary weatherstrip.
4. Use oil-free naphtha in order to clean the body panel.
Installation Procedure
1. Warm the body panel with a heat lamp or heat gun to a minimum temperature of 21°C (70°F).
2. Peel the backing from the front end of the front door auxiliary weatherstrip.
3. DO NOT touch the adhesive backing.
4. Press the front door auxiliary weatherstrip to the body as you continue to remove the backing.
5. Hand roll the front door auxiliary weatherstrip to the body in order to ensure proper adhesion.
