Air Injection Hose/Tube: Service and Repair
Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Crossover Pipe/hose Replacement
SECONDARY AIR INJECTION (AIR) CROSSOVER PIPE/HOSE REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct and air cleaner element.
3. Remove the ignition control module and coils.
4. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from radiator and reposition.
5. Loosen the quick clamps that hold the crossover pipe hose ends to the secondary air injection (AIR) shut-off valves.
6. Remove the AIR crossover pipe fastener.
7. Remove the AIR crossover pipe.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the AIR crossover pipe.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the AIR crossover pipe fastener.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Install the crossover pipe to the shut-off valves.
4. Fasten the quick clamps.
5. Connect the upper radiator hose to the radiator.
6. Install the ignition control module and coils.
7. Install the air cleaner element and air cleaner intake duct.
