Flash: MIL Illumination Diagnostic Trouble Code P050D - Cold Start Rough Idle Set
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software and Initializing the NAG1
transmission (sales code DGJ) or Clear the Variable Line Pressure (VLP) Counters on 42RLE equipped vehicles (sales code DGV) with the
StarSCAN(R)/StarMobile(R).
CAUTION:
It is important to initialize the NAG1 transmission (sales code DGJ) for 2008 model year or Clear the Variable Line Pressure (VLP) Counters on
42RLE equipped vehicles (sales code DGV) with the StarSCAN(R)/StarMobile(R).

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to models equipped with a 2.7L or 3.5L engine (sales code EER or EGG) and emissions package sales code NAE built before
August 23, 2008 (MDH 0823XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may complain of a MIL illumination. Upon further investigation the Technician may find that P050D - Cold Start Rough Idle has been
set.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (StarSCAN(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as
designed. If DTC's other then the one listed above are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this
bulletin.
If the vehicle operator describes or experiences the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
