Service Procedure for WJ Vehicles

1.

With the ignition key in the OFF position, disconnect the negative battery cable.

Note: 

To enhance customer satisfaction, remember to reset the clock when you have completed the service procedure.

Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool, gently pry the rear edge (farthest from the windshield) of the top cover up and away
from the instrument panel (I/P) far enough to disengage the four (4) snap clip retainers (Figure 4).

Remove the top cover and set it aside.

Remove the left and right A-Pillar trim panels.

5.

Remove the front bin from the center floor console.

6.

Remove the ash tray bezel. Disconnect the auxiliary power outlet, lighter and heated seat switch electrical connectors and set the bezel aside.

7.

Remove the radio bezel.

8.

Remove the radio.

9.

Remove the HVAC control unit.

10.

Remove the I/P cluster bezel.
