Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Power Steering Hose - Installation
Pressure Hose
PRESSURE HOSE
1. Install the pressure hose (4) to the vehicle.
2. Connect the pressure hose (4) at the pump pressure hose extension (6). Tighten the hose to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the pressure hose (4) at the gear. Tighten the hose to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the return hose (5) to the gear. Tighten the hose to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the pressure hose (4) to the retainer clip and the crossmember.
6. Install the inner wheel well See: Body and Frame/Fender/Front Fender/Front Fender Liner/Description and Operation.
NOTE: Before installing inner wheel well, verify that the hose is not touching other components.
7. Install the wheel and tire See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.
8. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
9. Refill the power steering system See: Fluids/Power Steering Fluid/Service and Repair.
Return Hose
RETURN HOSE
1. Install the return hose to the vehicle.
2. Connect the return hose (5) at the reservoir (1).
3. Connect the return hose (5) at the gear. Tighten the hose to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the return hose (5) to the retainer clip and the crossmember.
NOTE: Before installing inner wheel well, verify that the hose is not touching other components.
