Door/Trunk Ajar Indicator/Lamp: Description and Operation
Door Ajar Indicator Lamp
The door ajar warning lamp is used to alert the operator that a door is ajar. A chime tone is used along with the lamp for an audible warning.
There are four door ajar switches used. All of the switches are case grounded. The switches for the passenger's door and rear doors provide an input to
the BCM on circuit G74. When any of the switches are grounded (door ajar), and the vehicle is moving, the Body Control Module (BCM) sends a signal
over the CCD Bus to the instrument cluster for lamp illumination.
The driver's door works the same as the other doors, except the switch is also used for the Key-In reminder, and the Headlamp ON chime.
