Key Halo Lamp and Dome Lamp Operation
MODELS:
1995 (JA) Cirrus/Stratus
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Key Halo Lamp inoperative after opening vehicle door and/or Dome Lamp time-out with door open.
DISCUSSION:
On vehicles equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), the Key Halo Lamp will not illuminate and the Dome Lamp will time-out (fade to off after 30
seconds) if the door is left open under the following conditions:

Vehicle left for one hour or more with key off, lights off, and doors closed.

Doors unlocked using the RKE Fob or the Central Locking feature (if so equipped).
The Key Halo Lamp and Dome Lamp operation described above is normal with the
current electronics design and no repair attempt should be made. To override this programming, close the door and open it a second time. The Halo
Lamp will operate normally and the Dome Lamp will remain on for 60 minutes if the door is left open.
