NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 41TE OR 42LE TRANSAXLE THAT WAS BUILT BETWEEN SEPT. 1, 1994
AND JULY 14, 1995 (TRANSAXLE IDENTIFICATION CODE NUMBER XXX-2088-XXX THRU XXX-2404-XXXX), REFER TO
ILLUSTRATION.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Transaxle defaults into 2nd gear limp-in prior to reaching normal operating temperature. In most cases the transaxle returns to normal operation after a
restart. Transaxle Control Module (TCM) Diagnostic Trouble Code's (DTC's) 52 and/or 54 may or may not be accompanied with DTC 36.
DIAGNOSIS:
The 2nd gear limp-in condition may or may not be repeatable. Use the Mopar Diagnostic System (MDS) or the Scan Tool (DRB III) to check for the
presence of DTO's 36, 52 and/or 54 in the TCM. If DTC's 36, 52 and/or 54 are found, perform the Repair Procedure.
