SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Windshield wiper chatter on the "up" stroke and/or thump when blade changes direction.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves replacing the windshield wiper arms with revised parts.

1.

Place wiper arm in the park position and turn ignition off.

2.

Unsnap arm cover and loosen retention nut. Raise hood for clearance on the left side.

3.

Remove arm from pivot by using a universal claw puller.

4.

Place revised arm on pivot shaft, align arm with keyway and push down to start. Install retention nut and torque to 40 Nm (30 ft.lbs.).

5.

Install arm head cover.
