Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

NOTE:  The camshaft position sensor is mounted in the front of the timing case cover (Fig. 29).

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect electrical connector from sensor.
2. Loosen camshaft position sensor screw.
3. Without pulling on the connector wires, pull the sensor up out of the chain case cover.

INSTALLATION

1. Install sensor in the chain case cover and push sensor down until contact is made with the timing chain cover. While holding the sensor in this

position, install and tighten the retaining bolt to 12 Nm (105 in lb) torque.

2. Attach electrical connector to sensor.
