Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Pressure Fitting O-Ring Replacement

NOTE:  To replace the O-ring seal on the pressure fitting of the power steering pump the power steering pump will need to be removed from the engine.

DISASSEMBLE 

1. Remove the power steering pump from The engine.

2. Remove the power steering pump pressure fitting from the power steering pump. Use care to prevent the flow control valve and the spring from

sliding out of the discharge Mow control valve fitting.

3. Remove and discard the O-ring seal from the pressure fitting.

ASSEMBLE 

1. If necessary, clean and install flow control valve and spring in pump housing bore.
2. Install a new O-ring seal on the pressure fitting.
3. Install the pressure fitting into the power steering pump. Tighten the pressure fitting to a torque of 84 Nm (62 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the power steering pump on the engine.
