Oil Pressure Warning Lamp/Indicator: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The low oil pressure lamp is used to alert the operator that engine oil pressure has dropped below a predetermined pressure The oil pressure switch
located on the engine uses a switch that CLOSES when the pressure is below the predetermined level. The switch is case grounded to the engine
block.
Power for the lamp is supplied on the F11 circuit. This circuit also powers the parking brake warning lamp, located internal to the cluster. This
circuit is protected by a 5 Amp fuse located in cavity 17 of the junction block.
The ground side of the lamp is controlled by the G6 circuit. This circuit is connected from the instrument cluster to the engine oil pressure switch.
