Cruise Control Relay: Testing and Inspection

1. Place ignition in Off position, remove speed control relay which is located in junction block.
2. Place ignition in On position, check voltage at pin No. 16 of relay connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts proceed as follows:

a. Check fuse No. 14, if satisfactory proceed to next step.
b. Repair open wire between ignition and fuse 14 or between relay connector and fuse 14.

3. With speed control relay removed from relay bank, check resistance between relay terminals Nos. 16 and 17. If resistance is greater than 100

ohms, replace relay. 

4. Place ignition switch in Off position, then disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
5. Check resistance between PCM connector 55 and speed control relay connector pin 18, if resistance is greater than 10 ohms repair open circuit.
6. Check resistance between pin 55 of PCM and ground, if resistance is below 10 ohms repair short to ground. If resistance is greater than 10 ohms,

replace PCM.
