OPERATION
The BAS vacuum-powered brake booster functions like a typical brake booster.
An emergency stop is detected by the BAS control module by the BAS diaphragm travel sensor (8). In the case of a BAS brake application, the BAS
solenoid valve (2) opens the poppet valve (5), which admits atmospheric pressure from inside the vehicle from the air filters (3-4) located at the rear of
the BAS vacuum-powered brake booster (1).
The full assistance from the brake booster is transmitted to the master cylinder from the output rod (10). When the brake application is terminated, the
control module receives a signal from the BAS release switch (6) and the BAS solenoid valve (2) closes again. The BAS assistance is terminated.
