REMOVAL
WARNING: DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, SEAT BELT
TENSIONER, SIDE AIRBAG, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE
THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO
DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE
AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT
AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Record customer defined presets.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the radio by performing the following:

Using Special Tool 3291 Radio Removal tool, insert the tools into the slots with the jagged edge toward the center of the radio until a
slight click is heard.

Gently pull the rings on the radio tools to dislodge radio.

Pull the radio from the vehicle dash.
4. Disconnect the radio harness connectors.
5. Remove the radio from the vehicle.
6. To remove the radio tools, depress the flexible metal tabs on each side of the radio.
