Camshaft Bearing: Service and Repair
CAMSHAFT BEARING BRIDGE
REMOVAL
1. Remove the cylinder head covers.
Note: Rotate engine at the crankshaft in running direction until scribe mark 40° on pulley/vibration damper corresponds with scribe mark on
timing chain cover. Grooves in the camshafts must be toward the inside of the wedge.
2. Position the engine timing at 40° ATDC.
3. Using Special Tools 9104 (1) and 9105 Camshaft Locating Plates, lock the camshafts by placing the tool flush on the cylinder head, and inserting
it into the groove in the camshaft.
4. Remove the timing chain tensioner (1).
