Fuel Level Sensor: Description and Operation
The Fuel Level Sending Unit (2) is combined with a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor and is mounted at the top of the Fuel Tank (4) extending downward
inside. The sending unit is a lever-type sensor with sliding contacts (potentiometer).
The Fuel Level Sender produces a resistance value and changes it with the amount of fuel in the Fuel Tank. The float arm attached to the sender moves
as the fuel level changes. The Fuel Pressure Sensor uses a transducer to determine a resistance value for the Emission Control System.
