Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is a part of the Throttle Body.

The TPS cannot be serviced separately.

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) contains two actual value potentiometers for detecting the position of the throttle valve. The second potentiometer is
designed to form a reference value. The system will switch over to the second potentiometer if the first one fails. The TPS cannot be serviced separately.
If the TPS fails, the Throttle Body must be replaced.
