Wheel Hub: Description and Operation
HUB/BEARING
The bearing (2) used in the front hub (1) of this vehicle is a roller bearing unit type. This assembly combines the front wheel hub (1) and the front
wheel bearing (2) into a two piece unit. The hub nut (3) holds the bearing (2) and the front hub (1) to the steering knuckle's spindle. The hub nut (3)
has a locking bolt that locks the hub nut into position on the spindle. The bearing is protected from outside elements by a metal dust cap (4). The
bearings (2) can only be replaced as a set. The bearings and the wheel hub can be replaced independently of one another.
