If the gear shift lever is hard to move into gear, further diagnosis is necessary. This bulletin does not apply.

b.

If the gear shift lever moves easily into gear or grinds while going into gear, perform the Repair Procedure.

PARTS REQUIRED:

NOTE: 

One container will service multiple vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1.

Remove the transmission. Refer to the service information available in TechCONNECT. Reference: Service Info, Group 21 -
Transmission/Transaxle/Manual - Removal.

2.

Apply a very thin coat of Mopar Anti-Seize Compound, p/n 05012249AA, to the splines on the input shaft of the transmission.

CAUTION:

Do not apply excessive anti-seize compound on the input shaft splines. Too much may contaminate the clutch friction disc surfaces. A very thin
coating is sufficient.

3.

Install the transmission assembly. Refer to the service information available in TechCONNECT. Reference: Service Info, Group 21 -
Transmission/Transaxle/Manual - Installation.
