SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Rear console arm rest striker or latch assembly breakage on a subject vehicle may result if the striker hits the latch off center. Use the following repair
procedure, for alignment and/or replacement of the hinge, when the striker or latch assembly is serviced.
PARTS REQUIRED
1 Latch Assembly
PN 4247211
1 Hinge Assembly
PN 4381098 (if required)
Package PN 4364490 containing:
1 Striker 2 Rivets (black)
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Before replacing striker or latch assembly, open the arm rest lid and inspect the barrels of the hinge. Each barrel should have a circular punch mark. If
only two of the hinge barrels have punch marks, replace the hinge with part number listed above. (The additional staking removes all side play in the
hinge.)
Hinge Replacement
1.
Remove seven (7) screws securing the hinge to the arm rest lid and console base using a Phillips head screwdriver.
2.
Attach new hinge to console base using the old screws. Do not tighten screws until striker is aligned to latch assembly.
