To set RPM, turn idle speed adjusting screw (idle air bypass screw) until engine speed is 800 RPM (Figure 2). If speed will not adjust.
a.
Inspect all linkage for binding. Repair as required.
b.
If equipped with speed control, make sure servo cable is not holding throttle open. If so, adjust as required.
c.
Remove all cables from throttle body and make sure throttle shaft is not binding. If it is, replace throttle body.
NOTE:
ON VEHICLES WITH LESS THAN 300 MILES, REDUCE SPEED BY 75 RPM.

Turn engine off and reinstall brown with white tracer wire into 6-way connector. Disconnect and reconnect battery connector.

Reconnect radiator fan motor, coolant, and charge temperature sensors.
20.
Start engine and let speed stabilize for one minute.
21.
Engine speed should be within +/- 100 RPM's of specifications shown on the emission label.

If idle speed adjustment was not required, remove logic module and replace with appropriate part:
PN 5227243 to be used for 1985 Turbo Manual PN 5227245 to be used for 1985 Turbo Automatic
The above logic modules may be used as a service part for all 1985 turbo vehicles.
