SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Vehicle may exhibit audible spark knock with engine at idle and transmission in DRIVE when accessory loads are applied.
DIAGNOSIS
This audible spark knock ("pinging" sound) will most likely occur when ambient temperatures are near 80~F (26~C) during a hot engine idle condition
when the transmission is in the DRIVE position, and accessories such as air conditioning or power steering are in use.
Before proceeding to the repair procedure, verify the system is functioning as designed using the appropriate diagnostic test procedures. Be sure to check
for proper basic timing set and correct engine coolant level.
