Quarter Window Glass: Service and Repair
1. Remove the folding top slingwell assembly.
a. Unsnap the slingwell from the tacking strip.
b. Remove the slingwell clip at the belt bar reinforcement brace (one on each side).
c. Remove 3 nuts on each side attaching the side of the slingwell to the quarter trim upper mouldings.
d. Slide the forward edge of the slingwell out from rear seat back boot retainer.
2. Remove the quarter trim upper mouldings.
a. Remove 1 screw on each side at the upper door opening area.
b. Lift the moulding off the quarter trim and remove the seat belts through the slits in the moulding.
3. Remove the cowl trim and scuff plate panels.
4. Remove the rear seat cushion.
a. Pull up on the forward side of the seat cushion until its wire tabs disengage from the floor pan retainers.
b. Slide the seat belts out through the slits in the cushion.
5. Remove the quarter trim and rear seat back assembly.
a. Reach down and disconnect the speaker wiring.
b. Remove the 2 lower seat back screws.
c. Remove the screws from the top of the quarter trim at the boot latches (one on each side).
d. Remove the screws at the floor pan (one on each side).
e. Lift the quarter trim and rear seat back assembly (2 people) out of the vehicle.
6. Remove the quarter window assembly.
a. Run the window approximately one-third the way up.
b. Remove the glass stabilizer.
c. Disconnect the wiring.
d. Remove the 3 quarter window assembly attaching screws and lift the window assembly out from the vehicle.
7. Installation
a. To install the quarter window assembly, reverse the above procedure and use the "quarter window glass adjustment" procedure for aligning the
quarter glass. Remember to insert the folding top slingwell assembly drain tubes into the holes in the floor pan.
