Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
Fuel Pressure Regulator
WARNING: The fuel system is under constant pressure, even when the engine is OFF. Always release fuel pressure before servicing any fuel
system component.
NOTE: The fuel pressure regulator is mounted on top of the throttle body.
REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner assembly
2. Release fuel system pressure. See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair
3. Disconnect negative battery cable.
4. Remove 3 attaching screws from pressure regulator. Lift pressure regulator off of throttle body.
5. Remove gasket and O-ring from fuel pressure regulator.
INSTALLATION
1. Install new O-ring and gasket and press fuel pressure regulator into place in throttle body. Install 3 mounting screws and torque to 5 Nm (40
in-lbs).
2. Connect negative battery cable.
3. Using scan tool [1], activate fuel pump and pressurize system.
4. Check for leaks.
5. Install air cleaner assembly
