Disconnect battery cables. Remove battery.
4.
Disconnect the PCM 14- and 60-way electrical connectors.
5.
Remove and save the two PCM attaching screws. Remove the PCM and set aside for return to the Warranty Material Return Center.
6.
Connect the 14- and 60-way electrical connectors to the new PCM (C3905511 (2.2L) or C3905512 (2.5L)).
7.
Install the PCM and tighten the attaching screws securely.
8.
Reinstall the battery and connect the battery cables securely.
9.
Install the air cleaner duct to the PCM.
10.
Reset the radio presets recorded in Step 1.
Completion Reporting and Reimbursement
Claims for vehicles which have been serviced must be submitted on the DIAL
System. Claims submitted will be used by Chrysler to record recall service completions and provide dealer payments.
Use the labor operation number and time allowance (see illustration).
Parts Return
Removed Powertrain Control Modules must be returned to the Warranty Material Return Center.

If a vehicle is not available for service for a known reason, let us know by filling out the pre-addressed Vehicle Disposition Form portion of the Owner
Notification Form or describe the reason on a postcard and mail to:

EMISSIONS RECALL -- 1988 CHRYSLER PASSENGER CAR WITH A 2.2 OR 2.5 LITER FUEL INJECTED ENGINE OPERATED IN HIGH
ALTITUDE AREAS
Dear Chrysler Vehicle Owner:
The Environmental Protection Agency has determined that your 1988 Chrysler car, with a 2.2 or 2.5 liter fuel injected engine, may be in violation of
Federal Emissions Standards. Carbon monoxide levels could be above the allowable limits which were established to protect the public health from the
dangers of air pollution. For this reason, we are asking you to return your vehicle -- identified by the Vehicle Identification Number on the enclosed form
-- to your dealer for a special service repair. This service will be provided free of charge.
The needed instructions have been sent to all Chrysler-Plymouth and Dodge dealers. The service will not hurt your engine performance or fuel economy.
To obtain this service:
