to damage the small diameter terminals on the headlamp switch. Place the pigtail wire into the retaining clip.

Install the two phillips head screws which retain the turn signal switch. Position the turn signal lever so it can be read from the front of the
pod and then push the turn signal lever straight into the switch. Do not force the turn signal lever because it can only be installed one way.
7.
Carefully install the switch pod back onto the instrument panel. Use caution to prevent damage to the small diameter wire terminals on the
back of both the headlamp and wiper switches. Do not force the pod into position because you may push out or dislodge the headlamp or
wiper/washer wiring harness connector located in the instrument panel just behind the pod.
8.
Check for proper operation of all components which are controlled by the pod mounted switches.
Headlamp Switch Replacement
1.
When replacing the headlamp switch, the switch pod halves must be separated. The switch pod halves are secured by five self-tapping metal
screws located inside near the top of the pod. They can be accessed from the rear of the housing. These screws have a fine thread and must
not be used to secure the switches to the pod. Also remove the three phillips head screws from the bottom of the pod.

Remove the turn signal switch from the headlamp switch as described above.
3.
Remove the three screws which retain the headlamp switch.
4.
Using a small screwdriver, disconnect the linkage from the switch buttons.
5.
Gently move the switch to disconnect the instrument panel dimming lever from the slider on the pod. Remove the switch.
6.
Before installing the new headlamp switch, move both the lever and the slider to the "off" position. Move the linkage to the full "up" position
until it locks in place to keep it out of the way during reassembly.
7.
Making sure to place the dimming lever into the slider, loosely position the switch into the pod and using a finger, push the linkage onto the
switch buttons until it snaps in place.
8.
Use the three coarse thread screws to attach the headlamp switch to the pod. These screws are threaded into the plastic housing. Do not over
tighten or the threads may strip.
9.
Using the procedure above, install the turn signal switch and lever, then reassemble the inner and outer pod halves. Use the five selftapping,
fine thread screws to secure the top of the pod. Use the three phillips head screws to secure the bottom of the pod.
10.
Exercising caution as described above, gently install the switch pod back into the car. Check for proper operation of the components which
are controlled by the switches mounted in the pod.
Wiper/Washer Switch Replacement
1.
Replacement of the wiper/washer switch is similar to replacing the headlamp switch listed above. The pod halves must be separated to service
the wiper washer switch.
2.
Remove the three screws holding the wiper/washer switch in place.
3.
Using a small screwdriver, disconnect the linkage from the switch buttons.
4.
Gently move the switch to disconnect the wiper switch lever from the slider on the pod and then remove the switch.
5.
When installing a new switch, move both the lever and the slider to the "Hi" position. Move the linkage to the full "up" position until it locks
in place to keep it out of the way during reassembly.
6.
Making sure to place the wiper lever into the slider, loosely position the switch into the pod and using a finger, push the linkage onto the
switch buttons until it snaps in place.
7.
Using the three coarse thread screws, secure the switch to the housing.
8.
Put the two pod halves together using the self-tapping fine thread screws and then gently install the pod back into the instrument panel
observing the cautions noted above.
9.
Check for proper operation of the components controlled by the switches located in the pod.
