Heater Core: Service and Repair
LESS A/C
Exc. Horizon, Omni, Charger & Turismo
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2. Disconnect wire connector from blower motor, then disconnect control cable from mode door.
3. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core, then cap heater core tube openings to prevent coolant spillage.
4. Remove glove box, then the nut attaching hanger bracket to heater assembly through glove box opening. On Daytona, Lancer, Laser &
LeBaron GTS, remove 2 screws and disconnect demister adapter from top of heater case.

5. From engine compartment of dash panel, remove two nuts attaching heater assembly.
6. Carefully slide heater assembly out from under instrument panel, Figs. 19 and 20.
