Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Description and Operation

    The coolant temperature sensor, mounted near the thermostat housing, monitors coolant temperature and provides engine operating temperature data
to the SMEC or SBEC. The sensor, which is a variable resistor, is also used to turn on the radiator fan.
