Diagnosis E - Lack of Butyl Sealer at Upper Flange Area
1.
A lack of butyl along the flange area can cause a wind noise condition (Figure 6). Especially at points A and B.
2.
The butyl sealer should be continuous and reapplied whenever the weatherstrip is pulled away from the flange.

Diagnosis F - Turbulence at B-Pillar Applique
1.
Turbulence at the B-pillar applique can be traced to a large gap between the applique (A) and channel (B) (see Figure 7) and/or an overlap of the
top of the applique to the door moulding (see Figure 8).
2.
To close this gap, remove the glass-run weatherstrip from the channel.
3.
Remove the three screws from the applique.
4.
Pump butyl sealer into each of the three holes, push the applique against the channel, and install screws. Install weatherstrip using liquid soap to
aid in installation.
NOTE:
IF THE APPLIQUE OVERLAPS ON TOP OF THE DOOR MOULDINGS, TRIM MATERIAL OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE
APPLIQUE UNTIL IT FITS FLUSH INTO THE OPENING (FIGURE 8). USE CARE WHEN REMOVING APPLIQUE SO
THE XMAS TREE FASTENERS ARE NOT BROKEN.
