Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Rear Hub / Bearing - Removal

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support vehicle. See: Maintenance

2. Remove wheel mounting nuts (3), then tire and wheel assembly (1). See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Tires and Wheels -

Removal

3. If equipped with AWD:

a. Remove cotter pin (1), nut lock (7) and spring washer (2) from half shaft (5).
b. While a helper applies brakes to keep hub from turning, remove hub nut (3) and washer (6).

4. Remove brake caliper and rotor from hub and bearing assembly. See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Brake Rotor/Disc/Service
