Steering Wheel Tilt Mechanism Inoperative

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves placing a mastic patch over the eyelet of the steering wheel tilt mechanism linkage.

NOTE

This bulletin applies to Left Hand Drive vehicles only.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The vehicle operator may experience the steering wheel tilt mechanism is inoperative.

DIAGNOSIS:

1.

Pull on the tilt release lever to tilt the steering wheel then try and raise or lower the wheel depending on the steering wheel position.

2.

If the steering wheel cannot be moved:

a.

CS vehicles, proceed to CS Repair Procedure: Step # 1.

b.

RS/RG vehicles, proceed to RS/RG Repair Procedure Step # 1.
