Cabin Air Filter: Removal and Replacement
Particulate Air Filter - Removal
REMOVAL
NOTE: LHD model shown. RHD model similar.
1. Remove the passenger side cowl grille screen See: Body and Frame/Cowl/Cowl Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Cowl Panel Cover - Removal
.
NOTE: Complete removal of the windshield washer reservoir is not necessary. Position the reservoir out of the way just enough to allow
access to the particulate air filter.
2. Remove the three bolts that secure the windshield washer reservoir to the body and position the washer reservoir out of the way See: Wiper and
Washer Systems/Windshield Washer Reservoir/Service and Repair/Windshield Washer Reservoir - Removal.
3. Remove the particulate air filter (1) from the particulate air filter housing (2) by lifting the filter element up and out of the housing.
4. If required, remove the two bolts (3) that secure the particulate air filter housing to the cowl (4) and remove the housing.

INSTALLATION
NOTE: The particulate air filter is labeled with "REAR OF VEHICLE" and an arrow to indicate air flow direction through the filter. Make
sure to properly install the particulate air filter. Failure to properly install the filter will result in the need to replace the filter sooner
than required by design.
