6. Install each of the previously removed wheel mounting studs back into the hub flange as follows:
a. Place the stud in the mounting hole of the hub flange.
b. Place the hub (2) in the arbor press supported by Installer (3), Special Tool C-4698-1, allowing the stud (5) to extend down into the tool.
c. Lower the arbor press ram (1) and press the wheel mounting stud (5) into the hub flange until it is fully seated (4) against the back side on the
hub flange.
d. Repeat the steps (a), (b) and (c) on the remaining two studs.
7. Position the knuckle with the wheel bearing installed back in the arbor press with the smaller end of Remover/Installer (3), Special Tool
MB-990799, supporting the inner race of the wheel bearing as shown.
8. Place the wheel hub (2) in the wheel bearing making sure it is square with the bearing inner race. Lower the arbor press ram (1) and press the hub
into the wheel bearing until it is fully bottomed in the wheel bearing.
9. Remove the knuckle the press and verify the hub turns smoothly without rubbing or binding.
10. Install the knuckle on the vehicle. See: Front Steering Knuckle - Installation
