Thermostat Housing: Service and Repair
THERMOSTAT HOUSING
REMOVAL
1. Drain cooling system below thermostat housing level.
2. Remove thermostat.
3. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor.
4. Disconnect heater supply hose.
5. Remove housing attaching bolts.
6. Remove housing and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean all gasket sealing surfaces.
2. Install gasket and housing. Tighten bolts to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect engine coolant temperature sensor.
4. Install thermostat.
5. Fill cooling system.
