A NEW REAR CRANKSHAFT SEAL IS NOT SUPPLIED WITH A SELF CONTAINED INSTALLATION SLEEVE AS NOTED IN EARLIER
PROCEDURES.

Place seal over Special Tool C4681 such that the writing "THIS SIDE OUT" is visible on the seal. Lightly tap the new seal into place with a
plastic hammer until the seal is just flush with the machined cylinder block surface.
NOTE
:
IF THE SEAL IS INSTALLED UNDER FLUSH TO THE CYLINDER BLOCK THE SEAL LIP MAY FALL BEHIND THE CRANKSHAFT
SEAL SURFACE RESULTING IN AN OIL LEAK.
