Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove transaxle assembly. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
2. Stop the crankshaft pulley from turning, and remove the crankshaft bolt backing plate.
CAUTION: Use only the specified special tools or the crankshaft pulley damper could be damaged.
3. Make a notch in the lip of the oil seal with a knife, etc.
4. Cover the end of (-) screwdriver with a shop towel, and insert into the notched section of the oil seal, and lever out the oil seal to remove it.
