Remove the PCV hose from the PCV valve (Figure 2 or 3).

Unscrew the PCV valve from the valve cover.
5.
Inspect the part number on the PCV valve:
>
If the part number on the PCV valve is 04792962AA, reinstall the original PCV valve. Continue with Step 6.
>
If the part number on the PCV valve is not 04792962AA or is not legible, replace the PCV valve. Continue with Step 6.
6.
Install the PCV valve onto the valve cover and tighten to 35 in. lbs. (4 N.m).
7.
Install the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose.
8.
Install the plastic engine dress-up cover.
9.
Close the hood.
