Description
DESCRIPTION
The horizontal surface of the instrument panel top panel above the glove box is the most visible part of the Passenger Airbag (PAB). The PAB
door/cover is not available for separate service replacement. It is underneath the instrument panel top pad and the top pad must be replaced in the event
of a passenger airbag deployment.
The PAB includes an aluminum housing (2) within which the cushion (1) and inflator (3) are mounted and sealed. A stamped metal bracket mounts the
PAB to the instrument panel. It is mounted directly to the instrument panel reinforcement.
The PAB connects to the bottom of the instrument panel top pad by 10 hooks (1) that slip into the loops that are integral to the top pad. The top pad must
be removed to free the PAB from the loops.
