Door Trim Panel Buzz/Rattle Sound
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing foam tape between the bottom of the door trim panel and the door sheetmetal.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Audio output from the door speakers causes a buzz/rattle sound at the bottom of the front of door trim panel.
DIAGNOSIS:
Play the audio system adjusted to maximum bass to induce the buzz/rattle sound then press in on the bottom of the door trim panel in front of the map
pocket and hold, if the buzz/rattle is eliminated perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1.
Use a pencil and place a mark on the inner door sheetmetal using the front 10 inches of bottom horizontal edge of the door trim panel (start at the
trim panel surface shape change point and go forward) as a guide.
2.
Use the procedures in TechCONNECT 23-Body/Door-Front/Trim Panel/ Removal to remove the door trim panel.
3.
Cut 1 in. off the length of foam tape, p/n 05019056AA, then cut the tape lengthwise to make two 0.75 in x 5 in. pieces.
4.
Peel the backing off of the foam tape and apply to the door sheetmetal/watershield so the pencil mark made in step is slightly covered.
5.
Use the procedures in TechCONNECT 23-Body/Door-Front/Trim Panel/Installation to install the door trim panel.
6.
Repeat steps 1 through 5 for the other door trim panel.
