Flash: Torque Converter Shudder / Bump
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software, performing "quick learn", re-evaluating the vehicle and
if necessary, replacing the torque converter.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built with a 2.4L engine and 41TE automatic transmission (Sales Codes ED3 and DFF) built before March 5, 2007
(M DH0305XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may experience a momentary bump or shudder while driving between 48 to 65 KPH (30 to 40 MPH). This may be caused by abrupt
torque converter clutch engagement when EMCC first initializes.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (StarSCAN(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine/transmission systems are
functioning as designed. If DTC's are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the vehicle operator describes the Symptom/Conditions and can be verified by driving the vehicle to initialize EMCC engagement with moderate
throttle input, perform the Repair Procedure.
