Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

NOTE:  If the transmission control module (TCM) is being replaced with a new or replacement unit, the Pinion Factor and Quick Learn procedures must
be performed.
 

1. Disconnect battery negative cable at strut tower.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly and transmission control module (TCM)-to-power train control module (PCM) bracket nut.
3. Partially remove air cleaner assembly to clear PCM bracket stud.

TCM/Bracket Assembly

4. Remove TCM-to-PDC bracket screw.
5. Partially  remove  TCM/mounting  bracket assembly and disconnect TCM 60-way connector.
6. Remove TCM/mounting bracket assembly.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:  If transmission control module is being replaced with a new or replacement unit, the Pinion Factor and Quick Learn procedures must be
performed.
