Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
Removal
Caution: Before removing the hydraulic assembly, relieve the pressure in the brake system; to do this, turn off the ignition and then pump the
brake pedal to the floor at least 20 times until a hard pedal is obtained.
The brake fluid is corrosive, so take care not to spill it on painted parts; should this happen anyway, immediately wash the affected area.
Before working on the hydraulic assembly, wash it externally with a detergent that does not contain mineral oils.
DO NOT disassemble the solenoid-valve assembly or the proportioning valve into their components and DO NOT separate the master cylinder
from the actuator assembly.
Disconnect the negative battery lead, remove the reservoir cap and remove the brake fluid from the reservoir with a special pump.
Unplug the following electrical connectors:

Reservoir brake-fluid level connector (press on spring clip and pull out).

Pressure switch connector (pull to unplug).

Main valve connector (press-spring-clip and and pull out).
